Franklin P. Sawyer

The Neptune Society of Central California in Modesto was in charge of arrangements for Franklin Perry Sawyer, 88, of Modesto. The former Ceres resident died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at Evergreen Rehabilitation Care Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1917, Mr. Sawyer was a native of Iowa, and lived in Modesto for 70 years. He was the owner of Sawyer Tile in Modesto, for 25 years. Mr. Sawyer was a graduate of Ceres High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.

Mr. Sawyer leaves behind his daughter, Pamela Barnes of Bend, Ore.; her stepdaughter, Pamela Atkinson of Modesto; her sister, Thelma Butler of Manhattan Beach; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy V. Sawyer; and children, Thomas G. Sawyer and Sally K. Kehoe.
