A funeral service was held be Friday at Richland Faith Assembly of God for George B. Wilkinson, 88, of Ceres. He died Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Born Oct. 14, 1916, Mr. Wilkinson was a native of Greenfield, Mo., and lived in Ceres for 59 years. He was a receiving agent for J.C. Penney department store in Modesto and belonged to the Penney's Breakfast Club. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Richland Faith Assembly of God in Ceres. He was an Army veteran of World War II; he belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3199.

He leaves behind his wife, Floriene Wilkinson of Ceres; two children, Edna Johnson of Modesto and George B. Wilkinson of Crossville, Tenn.; his brother, Paul Wilkinson of Greenfield; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
