A memorial service was held Tuesday morning at Allen Mortuary for Gerald Edmond McKinley, 71, of Turlock. He died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at Brandel Manor convalescent hospital.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 1, 1933, Mr. McKinley was a native of Arkansas and had lived in Turlock since 1992. Mr. McKinley previously lived in the Modesto and Ceres area since 1936. He was a civil servant and worked at the Sharpe Army Depot 26 years. Mr. McKinley served in the Army during the Korean War.

He leaves behind his wife, Joan McKinley of Turlock; his son, John McKinley of Modesto; four step-children, Kenneth Allen of Turlock, Patsy Boyett of Mynot, N.D., Lily Clark of Sacramento and Amy McKinley of Merced; and 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
