A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakdale Memorial Chapel in Oakdale for Helen Esther Beckwith, 87, of Ceres. She died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Oakdale. The Oakdale-Riverbank Memorial Chapels are in charge of arrangements.
Born April 2, 1920, Mrs. Beckwith was a native of Kansas and lived in Valley Home 54 years prior to moving to Ceres 12 years ago. She was a store clerk at the Ben Akers General Store in Valley Home for 45 years. She was a member of the Ceres Women's Club and the Ceres Senior Citizens Club.
She leaves behind her daughter, Theresa Stroud of Modesto; her sister, Grace Olsen of Fresno; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Beckwith.
