Janice Marlene Bowman

August 5, 1937 – July 21, 2018

Janice Marlene Bowman, 80 of Ceres, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Modesto.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 6 at 9 a.m. at Franklin and Downs Ceres Chapel, 2561 Fifth St., followed by interment at Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E. Whitmore Ave.

Jan was born August 5, 1937 to George and Ruby Parks in Everett, Wash. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Jan worked in various capacities for Stanislaus County for 20 years before retiring as a family support officer. She was also a member of Retired Employees of Stanislaus County, and Order of the Eastern Star, Summit Chapter #138 of Knights Ferry.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dennis Garner of Port Angeles, Wash.; Russell Garrett of Brentwood, Michael Garrett of Seneca, S.C., and Anthony Garrett of Visalia; her sister, Shirley Manke of Salem, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bowman in 2015.
