A Celebration of Life was held Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Jasper Eugene Adams, 83, of Modesto. He died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007.

Born Aug. 20, 1924 in Quinton, Okla., and has lived in the area for 74 years. He attended Calvary Temple Worship Center in Modesto for over 30 years. Mr. Adams had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired millwright.

Mr. Adams leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Dortha Adams; his two children, Patricia Parker and Stanley Adams, both of Modesto; three grandchildren, Tracie Eddings of Modesto, Jeff Eddings of Hughson, and Rob Adams of Arizona; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Eddings and Halle Eddings, both of Hughson. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
