A rosary will be held at 5 p.m. today at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Jesus M. Manriquez, 80, of Ceres. He died of natural causes Feb. 6, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

A Mass will be said at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the chapel. Burial will be Thursday at Patterson District Cemetery.

Born May 21, 1923, Mr. Manriquez was a native of Mexico and lived in Ceres, Modesto, Tracy and Vernalis for 60 years. He was a farm laborer for 60 years. Mr. Manriquez was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.

He leaves behind his wife, Nicolasa Manriquez of Ceres; 10 children, Andres Manriquez and Maximo Manriquez, both of Arizona, Jose Manriquez of Ceres, Celia Manriquez, Nancy Manriquez and Sergio Manriquez, all of Modesto, Jesus Manriquez of Mexico, Luz Maria Manriquez of Los Angeles, Arturo Manriquez of Vernalis and Enrique Manriquez of Tracy; two brothers, Eleasar Manriquez of Mexico and Uvalda Manriquez of Modesto; four sisters, Adela Manriquez and Delfina Manriquez, both of Mexico, Zoila Manriquez of Modesto and Carolina Manriquez of Tracy; and 34 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister Victoria Manriquez.
