A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St Jude's Catholic Church,3824 Mitchell Road, Ceres, for Juan A. Murillo, 88, of Ceres. The longtime resident of Modesto and Ceres died on Nov. 19, 201.
Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto.
Born June 16, 1923 in Guanajuato, Mexico, Juan came to the United States and worked as a farm laborer for over 30 years and later established Murillo Nursery in Ceres, which he operated with his sons.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Juana Murillo; his children, Efren Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, Juan Rudy Murillo, Maria Isabel Cardenas, and Guadalupe Murillo, all of Ceres, Socorro Padilla and Jose Murillo of Modesto and Jini Arteaga of Turlock; his brother, Andres Murillo of Newman and four siblings in Mexico; and 29 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
