Kathryn J. Elwess Arrollo, 62, the wife of former Mayor Louis Arrollo, succumbed to cancer on Oct. 27, 2004 at her home.

Her Mass was held Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres. The Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of burial arrangements at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born Dec. 15, 1941 in Gordon, Neb., Mrs. Arrollo was a Ceres resident for 60 years. She was a bookkeeper for 47 years. Mrs. Arrollo was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church and was a team leader in R.C.I.A., adult baptism. She enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with family.

Mrs. Arrollo served as Ceres' "first lady" when her husband served as mayor from 1987 to 1990 and during his second term from 1999 to 2001.

Besides her husband, she leaves behind two children, Shelly Arrollo of Escalon and Troy Arrollo of Hughson; her brother, Allen Elwess of Danville; two sisters, Nancy Elwess of Modesto and Tracee Wilhelm of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren.
