Services were held for Kenneth Eugene Pride, 59, of Suffolk, Va. The former Ceres resident died Jan. 10, 2008 at his home.

Born March 28, 1948, Mr. Pride was a native of Martinez, and moved to Modesto in November 1963. He served in the Navy and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, Ken went to work for Proctor and Gamble near Ceres. He and his wife of 29 years, Jo Ann Pride, lived in Ceres for many years. They maintained a foster home for developmentally disabled children from 1984 until 2002. Ken was an Oakland Raiders fan and loved outdoor sports including fishing, hunting, and riding his ATVs. Two years ago he moved to Suffolk, Va. Ken developed friendships with many people and will always be remembered for his smile, willingness to help others and his always caring attitude.

He leaves behind his wife, Jo Ann Pride of Suffolk, Va.; his daughters, Gratia Aguiler, Angie Aguiler and Lidya Aguiler; his mother Helen E. Pride; his sisters, Cheri Lovejoy and Lori Davidson; his brother, Richard Pride; and six grandchildren, and four great-grand children. He was proceeded in death by son Clifford James Pride, father Clifford Charles Pride, brother Keith Raymond "Bear" Pride, and nephew Keith Raymond Pride Jr.
