A Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Maria Vazquez Hermosillo, 62, of Ceres. She died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at her home.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born May 25, 1942, Mrs. Hermosillo was a native of Michoacn, Mexico, and had lived in Ceres since 2000. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hermosillo was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. She enjoyed walking.

She leaves behind her five children, Jriel Hermosillo of Mexico, Isabel Hermosillo of Denair, Maria Socorro Garcia of Modesto, Audel Hermosillo of Ceres and Feliciano Hermosillo of Patterson; six brothers, Baltazar Vazquez and Abraham Vazquez, both of Modesto, Rafael Vazquez of Ceres, Jesus Vazquez of Farmersville, Antonio Vazquez of Delhi and Vicente Vazquez of Mexico; eight sisters, Angelina Torrez of Hughson, Ana Macias, Herminia Tejeda, Esperanza Vazquez and Elvira Vargas, all of Modesto, Carmen Torrez of Merced, Florita Guzman of Ceres and Eloisa Vazquez of Mexico; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel Hermosillo Villaluazo; and three brothers.
