A Mass was held Friday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Maria dos Neves Pedro Dinis, 87, of Hilmar. She died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel.
Born Jan. 17, 1918, Mrs. Dinis was a native of Lajes, Terceira, the Azores, and lived in Hilmar for 20 years after previously living in Turlock and Ceres. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Dinis was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock.
She leaves behind her husband, Rogerio P. Dinis of Hilmar; five children, Rogerio Dinis of Hilmar, Ema Labo of Modesto, Eduarda Pacheco of Terceira, Maria Linhares of Modesto and Lucilia de Oliveria of Turlock; her brother, Antonio Machado Pires of Terceira; her sister, Rosa Ferrand of Elizabeth, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren.
