Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, for Mary Francis Sharp, 89, of Modesto. She died Sept. 29, 2010
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1732 Miller Ave., Modesto. A private burial will follow.
Born Aug. 21, 1921, Mary was born in Trenton, Mo., to Oliver and Alma Robinson, just 10 minutes after her twin. Upon graduating school in 1938, she married Harry N. Sharp. In 1951, they uprooted their family and moved to California, first living in Ceres and later in Livermore. She worked as part of the office staff for Ceres High School and also Granada High in Livermore before retiring in 1984. She had made her home in Modesto for the last 26 years, where she was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
She leaves behind two sons, Lewis Sharp and Darrel Sharp; and 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by daughter Janice Elaine, husband Harry, and son Jerry.
