Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock for Medik Zia Amirfar, 68, of Ceres. She died Aug. 27, 2008.
Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias.
Born Jan. 24, 1940, Mrs. Amirfar was born in Tehran, Iran, and came to the United States in 1956. She lived in Pacifica prior to moving to Ceres in 1977. Mrs. Amirfar worked at Del Monte Cannery in Modesto for over 20 years and loved the people she worked with. She had her cosmetology license but preferred working at Del Monte. Medik enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, dancing and music.
She leaves behind her children Nino Amirfar of Turlock, Benny Amirfar of Turlock, Joe Amirfar of Modesto and Vicky Amirfar of Ceres; a brother, Jack Khodabakhsh of Hollywood; her sister, Varia Fekrat of Woodland Hills; and six grandchildren, Julius Amirfar Jr., Ashley Amirfar, Benny Amirfar Jr., Adam Amirfar, Shawn Amirfar and Anthony Amirfar; and two great-grandchildren, Michel'lei and Julius III. She was preceded in death by parents Zia and Emma Khodabakhsh and sister Marietta Voskanian.
