March 24, 1960 - Jan. 14, 2014

Mike Petty of Ceres, owner/operator of Ceres Porta Mix who was married to the love of his life, Robyn Amerson Petty for 22 years, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. He was 53.

Born March 24, 1960 in Paris, France, Mike was known as a man whose doors were always open for anyone who needed help. Whether it meant giving someone the shirt off his back, lending an ear, or giving advice to point them in the right direction, Mike was there for people. When he wasn't working at the shop Mike could be found at home with a house full of family and the many kids and their families that he helped and been "Old School" or "Grumpy" to throughout the years.

He leaves behind his wife, Robyn Amerson Petty of Ceres; his children, Chad, Bryan (Tami), Timmy, Mikayla (Jason) and Chuck (Coby); his parents, Zella of Modesto and Richard (Jeanette) of Arizona; his brother, Den (Tonya) of Oroville; and his grandchildren, Bryanne, Alyssa, Hailey, Kadance, Caitlyn, Emma, Camryn, Elly, Gage and Cathlynn. He also leaves behind many loved and cherished nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, cousins, and his Aunt Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. today (Jan. 22) at Haven of Hope, or Keyes Assembly of God, 5450 7th St., Keyes.
