A funeral service was held Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home's Heritage Chapel for Opal Lee, 92, of Ceres. He died Friday, July 16, 2010 in Hughson.
Born May 22, 1918, Mr. Lee was born in Paris, Texas to Author and Mrytle Lee. He was a resident of Stanislaus County for 72 years where he farmed for 26 of those years. With his wife, Esther, he was a foster parent to over 150 children.
Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Esther Lee of Ceres; his son, Jeffery Lee. He was preceded in death by sons Larry and Douglas Lee, and sisters Jewel Langford, Viola Lame and Bertha Lee.
