A graveside service was held Thursday at Acacia Cemetery in Modesto for Oscar A. Branch, 81, of Caldwell, Idaho, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at West Valley Medical Center.

The Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 30, 1923, Mr. Branch was a native of Bennington, Okla., and lived in Caldwell since 2000. He previously lived in Modesto 50 years. Mr. Branch was a musician, and was a member of the Musicians Union and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Branch leaves behind his wife, Leila F. Branch of Caldwell; four children, Larry Branch of Los Angeles, Linda Rombout and Jackie Rose, both of Ceres, and Melodee Upshaw of Idaho; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
