A funeral service was held Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Patricia Curtis Cosgrave, 82, of Modesto. She died March 16, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, with her family at her side.

Born June 14, 1929 in Woodlake to Strever and June Curtis, Pat graduated from Woodlake High School. She attended College of the Sequoias before moving on to the University of California, Davis. While in school in Davis, she met and married her husband, Russel Cosgrave. She graduated in 1952 with a degree in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics at Downey, Ceres and Beyer high schools. After retiring in 1988, she was active in the Stanislaus Retired Teachers Association, traveling, and being a grandmother. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren on her farm west of Salida.

She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Russel Cosgrave of Modesto; her children, Wesley Cosgrave, Steven Cosgrave and Cindy Mae Peters; her brother, Bob of Reno; her sister, Adalyn Hollis of Visalia; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Bill and Fred Curtis.
