Pearl Roll

A funeral Mass was held Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Pearl Sophia Roll, 95, of Ceres. She died April 27, 2008 after a lengthy illness.

Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

The Ceres Chapel of Franklin and Downs was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 1, 1912, Mrs. Roll was a native of Odebolt, Iowa, and moved to Ceres with her husband and daughter in 1964. She moved to Iowa in 1991 but returned to Ceres in 2001. Mrs. Roll managed Westward Ho Mobile Park in Ceres for several years and was also a Beeline Clothing sales distributor. She was an active parishioner at St. Jude's Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Ladies' Guild. Pearl was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to celebrate life with her family and friends.

She leaves behind is survived by her daughter, Ramona Harris, Ceres; her sisters, Francis Vaughan, Ruth Roeder and Florence Wunschel, all of Iowa; her brothers, Don Miller of Iowa, and Vin Miller of North Carolina; her granddaughters, Cammie Harris, Shannon Harris and Erin Standley, all of Modesto; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry Roll, and husband of eight years, Joseph Dinges.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Catholic Church, 3824 Mitchell Rd., Ceres, CA 95307.
