A graveside service was held at Turlock Memorial Park on Thursday for Phyllis J. Jones, 67, of Greencastle. The former Turlock resident died on Aug. 17.

Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born December 1940 in Turlock, Phyllis retired from the Stanislaus County Mental Health Department and had served as a secretary at the Machinist Union Local 1528 in Modesto. She was a member of Bainbridge Christian Church, and Grace Community Church in Ceres and the Native Daughters of the Golden West/Morada Parlor #199. A lifelong supporter of athletics, Mrs. Jones was an avid bowler and softball pitcher.

She leaves behind her companion, Roy Harris; her children, Debbie Welch of Roachdale, Ind., and David Jones of Los Banos; a brother, Frank Niebaum of Sonora; five grandchildren, David Pimlott, Jennifer Pimlott, Amanda Jones, Tommy Welch and Katie Welch; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Herman and Juanita Price Niebaum.
