A memorial service was held Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Delhi for Rachel Hartt, 98, of Ceres. She died this month at her home.

Private inurnment was at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born March 1913, in Tyee, Ore., to Roy and Clara Perkins, Rachel grew up in Oregon. In the early years her parents were farm workers and moved with their work around the Oregon area. She married Arthur Hartt in 1930 and he worked as a carpenter. Mrs. Harrt enjoyed crocheting and quilting, often giving gifts of her handiwork. She also enjoyed teaching others about God and the Bible.

She leaves behind five children, Carolyn Hatfield of Ceres, Betty Smylie of Fullerton, Lila Huff of Ceres, Robert Hartt of Turlock, and Jonathan Hartt of Denair; a sister, Alice Dutton of Eugene, Ore.; and 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years, Arthur Hartt, and son Arthur Lee Hartt.
