Sherry I. Rorex

A funeral service was held Monday at Carpenter's House Church for Sherry Ilene Warren Rorex, 68, of Modesto. She died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

Private burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born May 25, 1936, Mrs. Rorex was a native of San Jose and had lived in Modesto since 1997. She also had lived in Pinecrest and Oregon. Mrs. Rorex worked at schools in San Jose and Modesto as a secretary and administrative assistant. She also worked for the San Jose Mercury News and Western States Plywood Mill in Oregon. She was secretary of Carpenter's House Church, a member of the Ceres Red Hat Society and a founding member of the Sixes Volunteer Fire Department in Sixes, Ore. Mrs. Rorex was a licensed private pilot.

She leaves behind two sons, Kenith Rorex of Springfield, Ore., and Allen Rorex of Turlock; her brother, Gordon Warren of Fremont, Neb.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ken Rorex; and one brother.
