Visitation will be from boon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Surjit Kaur, 82, of Ceres. She died Oct. 28, 2010.
A Sikh funeral will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Allen Mortuary.
Born December 25, 1927 in India to the late Diwan Singh and Banti Kaur, Surjit spent much of her life in India, where she was a homemaker. She settled in Ceres in 1992. She belonged to the Ceres Sikh Temple and loved to cook for family and friends.
She leaves behind her children, Devinder Khather, Harkrishan Khather and Santosh Sidhea; her sister, Gurbahan Kaur; and her brother, Dilbagh Singh; and eight grandchildren.
