A funeral service was held Tuesday morning at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church for Tyson Donald Burgess Burkhart, 18, of Ceres. He died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born Feb. 5, 1987, Mr. Burkhart was a native of Turlock. He lived most of his life in Turlock and lived in Ceres only a few months. He was an apprentice welder for Spycher Bros. and was a graduate of Irwin High School in Hilmar. Tyson enjoyed baseball, football, motorcycles, snowboarding and horses.

He leaves behind his mother, Dawn Burgess of Denair; his father, Donnie Burkhart of Denair; two sisters, Hanna Burgess of Ceres and Kayla Smith of Atwater; his grandparents, Roy and Peggy Jantz, and Ron and Judy Burkhart, all of Turlock, and Ivan and Patty Cole of Denair; and his great-grandparents, Lois Jantz of Turlock, and Edgar and Katherine Jones of Atwater.
