A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Evergreen Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park for Victor Lee Emery, 64, of Lodi. He died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005 at Lodi Memorial Hospital.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born June 15, 1941, Mr. Emery was a native of Mount Carmel, Ill., and lived in the San Joaquin Valley for 46 years and previously lived in Modesto. He worked for Axle Plus, delivering auto parts in Lodi and Stockton. Mr. Emery previously retired after a 35-year career at the Tracy Defense Depot. He participated in many bowling leagues and also enjoyed fishing.

He leaves behind his companion, Kathy Doffin of Lodi; four children, Zonda "Candy" Whitten of Tracy, Anthony "Tony" Johnston of Ceres, and Christopher Emery and Leanne Rutherford, both of Stockton; two two sisters, Phyllis Patrick of Mattoon, Ill., and Jeanne Coffman of Tennessee; and eight grandchildren (four of whom live in Ceres), and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Marie Emery; his parents; and a brother.
