A memorial service was held Saturday at the Church of Christ in Ceres for Wanda Christine Brown, 73, of Auburn. The former Hughson resident died Aug. 27, 2005 at Foothill Oaks Care Center.
The Chapel of the Valley was in charge of arrangements.
Born Sept. 21, 1931, Mrs. Brown was a native of Oklahoma and had lived in Auburn since 1992 and previously lived in Hughson for many years. She was a nurse for many years. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Church of Christ in Ceres.
She leaves behind two children, Phyllis Brown of Modesto and Charles Brown of Salida; three brothers, Warren Johnson of Modesto, Louis Johnson of Auberry and Jerry Johnson of Texas; two sisters, Pat Boek of Roseville and Bernice Arnett of Missouri; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown.
