Upperclassmen Nick Moran, Ivan Raya and Erick Garcia were recognized during the Ceres High School varsity wrestling team's Senior Night this past week.

Moran, Raya and Garcia all contributed during the Bulldogs' 72-3 domination of Pacheco Wednesday evening at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.

Moran pinned Jesse Juardo in 40 seconds during their 152-pound showdown.

Raya won by second-round pin (3:20) over Alfredo Ortega at 170 pounds.

Garcia earned a forfeit win at 132 pounds.

Ceres High teammates David Cisneros, Ruben Sanchez, Eric Bejaran, Gabe Balderas, Ricky Garcia, Brandon Christeson, Armando Morales, Joey Bettencourt, Rudy Gonzalez and Moses Gomez were also victorious.

"The kids stepped up," Bulldogs head coach Jon Nowicki said. "They performed at a high level."

Ceres High (3-1) remained in second place in the Western Athletic Conference dual-meeting standings.

Cisneros won by first-round pin (0:28) over Rueben Rocha at 145 pounds.

Sanchez won by pin (0:47) over Kyle Zeisarich at 220 pounds.

Bejaran won by pin (1:20) over Brandon Villareal at 182 pounds.

Balderas won by pin (1:37) over Aaron James at 113 pounds.

Ricky Garcia won by third-round pin (4:39) over Salvador Rosfro at 126 pounds.

Christeson won by pin (5:37) over Austin Byrum at 120 pounds.

Morales won by decision (4-0) over Everardo Santillan in the heavyweight division.

Bettencourt won by decision (7-1) over Leon Paola at 106 pounds.

Gonzalez won by decision (7-2) over Adrian Eusebro at 195 pounds.

Moses Gomez won by forfeit at 138 pounds.

Ceres High edged out host Livingston, 31-26, on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Moran had the match-clinching win at 152 pounds. He pinned Jesus Sierra in the first round (1:10).

Cisneros' 2-0 victory over David Marratte at 145 pounds set up the winner-take-all scenario.

Morales, Balderas, Bettencourt, Nick Santibanez and Dustin Palacek won their respective matches as well.

Morales won by forfeit at 285 pounds.

Balderas won by pin (0:33) over Cyndal Camposo at 113 pounds.

Bettencourt won by major decision (10-0) over Jatin Anand at 106 pounds.

Santibanez won by decision (9-7) over Raymond Tello at 126 pounds.

Palacek won by decision (9-2) over Cody Carter at 160 pounds.

Ceres High will face off against crosstown-rival Central Valley (0-2) today on the road at 6 p.m.
