Central Valley High School closed out its summer baseball campaign with consecutive road wins.

The Hawks jumped on Turlock early and cruised to an 11-2 victory on Tuesday, July 1.

Central Valley scored six times in the top of the first inning, highlighted by David Griffin's three-run double.

Greg Guerra, the Hawks' ace pitcher, retired eight batters via strikeout over five innings.

Kristian Olsen tossed two innings of relief.

Guerra also collected three hits on offense.

Scott Myatt added two hits, including an RBI double.

Griffin singled as well.

Central Valley tallied three runs in the fourth inning en route to a 6-3 win over Modesto Christian on Wednesday, June 30.

Hawk second baseman Luis Rodriguez hit an RBI double off the left-field fence.

Michael Melton and William Mestas both pitched for Central Valley.

Melton started. He allowed two runs in three innings.

Mestas gave up just one run in four innings of work.

The Hawks finished the year with a 10-5-1 record.

"I am very pleased with our effort this summer and I'm very excited to get things going in February," head coach Greg Magni said. "Three playoff teams will come out of the VOL this upcoming season and we hope to be in the mix when that time rolls around. Once again, it will be a very tough VOL, but we feel like we have as good a chance as anyone."
