Girls post 2-3 record at Elite camp

Ceres High School's girls basketball program completed its summer schedule.

The Bulldogs posted a 2-3 record at the Sacramento State Elite/Team Camp last Wednesday and Thursday.

"We're getting better," head coach Vanessa Morris said. "I have no complaints."

The Bulldogs staged their final Girls Summer Basketball League games at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium on June 26.

Ceres High lost 47-33 to Hughson on June 26.

Bulldog sophomore Ryleigh Honberger totaled 10 points.

Freshman point guard Nicole Bates had 13 points.

Junior Alyssa Sanchez contributed four points.

Ceres High trailed 20-17 at intermission.

The Huskies outscored the Bulldogs 16-3 during the final eight-plus minutes of the game.

"The team did a great job this summer," Morris said. "We got a bunch of new people. Everybody worked hard."
