Ceres High boys, girls win WAC duals by slim margins

Ceres High’s varsity girls and boys swim teams edged out Mountain House’s programs by a combined seven points during last week’s Western Athletic Conference duals.

Ceres High’s second-place girls squad improved to 4-2 in the WAC standings with an 88-83 win over the Mustangs on Friday in Tracy.

Katherine Hensley placed first in the 500 free and second in the 200 free.

Alene Feld placed first in the 100 breast and second in the 200 IM.

Allison McAdams placed first in the 100 free and third in the 50 free.

Makayla Estermann placed second in the 100 breast.

Kassandra Armas placed second in the 100 fly and third in the 200 free.

Jullissa Arreola placed second in the 500 free and third in the 100 back.

Tania Garfias placed second in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 free.

Bryanna Moran placed third in the 200 IM.

Ashlyne Hott placed third in the 500 free.

Emily Wolff placed third in the 100 fly and fourth in the 200 free.

Silver Harvey placed fourth in the 200 IM.

Paulina Miramontes placed fourth in the 100 back.

Jazzmin Suarez placed fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 100 breast.

Angelique Alvarado placed fifth in the 100 fly.

Paige Adams placed sixth in the 100 back.

Mitzy Collantes placed sixth in the 50 free.

Ceres High’s fourth-place boys squad evened its conference record at 3-3 with a 81-79 victory against Mountain House.

“It was really competitive,” Bulldog standout Elliott Lewis said. “We won by just two points. It came down to the breaststroke. Being able to pull it out at the end by a close margin feels pretty good.”

Lewis placed first in the 100 breast and 50 free.

Mark Razo placed first in the 100 fly and third in the 100 back.

Ryan Baranski placed first in the 100 free and third in the 50 free.

Jeremy Kier placed second in the 200 IM.

Will Emmons placed second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free.

Kenneth Arroyo placed second in the 200 free and fourth in the 100 back.

Cruz Fee placed third in the 100 free and fifth in the 50 free.

Angel Figueroa placed fourth in the 200 free and 100 breast.

Luis Alvarez placed fifth in the 200 IM and 100 breast.

Jesus Landeros placed fifth in the 100 free and 100 back.

Ceres High will close out the WAC dual season this Friday at Grace Davis. The meet will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
