The members of Ceres High's and Central Valley's cross country programs competed at the Western Athletic Conference preseason meet on Wednesday at Ceres River Bluff Regional Park.

Jennifer Cisneros led Ceres High's girls team with a sixth-place finish on the 3-mile course.

Bulldog teammates Karina Torrez, Cristina Torrez and Maria Diaz took 11th, 12th and 13th, respectively.

Central Valley's Esveydi Mondragon finished in seventh place.

Hawk teammates Marissa Martinez, Jazlyn Ramirez, Isabel Ortiz, Beatriz Garcia, Alexa Arvizu, Rocio Villasenor, Angelica Macias, Jessica Alvarez, Emily Mendoza, Natalia Guzman, Anastashia Maldonado, Sharon Chatha and Paula Sanchez placed 18th, 24th, 26th, 29th, 33rd, 36th, 37th, 41st, 43rd, 44th, 45th and 46th, respectively.

Central Valley boys runner Andres Rojo finished second overall.

Joseph Juarez, Eric Romo, Javier Gradilla, Octavio Hernandez, Severo Vazquez, Aaron Constancio, Justin Lipani, Daniel Garrido and Raul Castaneda took 29th, 32nd, 38th, 39th, 48th, 56th, 58th, 61st and 69th, respectively.

Christian Linarez (sixth place) led Ceres High's boys squad, followed by Joshua Madariaga (15th), Angel Macias (19th), Roman Acosta (23rd), Adalberto Rodriguez (26th), Isaac Soto (45th), Isai Soto (46th) and Primitivo Nuno (53rd).

The Bulldogs and Hawks will begin the Western Athletic Conference dual-meet portion of their schedules this week.

Central Valley will host Pacheco today.

Ceres High will compete against Los Banos on the road.
