Mixed results for Bulldogs, Hawks

Central Valley’s varsity softball team evened its non-conference record at 4-4 with a 12-2 five-inning, mercy-rule win against visiting Grace Davis on March 20.

Hawk pitcher Scarlett Lloyd tallied 11 strikeouts versus the Spartans (6-3).

She allowed two runs and scattered six hits.

Central Valley scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, three in the second, two in the third, and three in both the fourth and fifth to secure the victory.

Cougars 15, Bulldogs 3
    Ceres High’s varsity softball team lost 15-3 at Escalon in five innings last Friday.

The Bulldogs dropped to 1-4 in non-conference play.

The Cougars improved to 5-4.

Ceres High collected five hits—three doubles—with six strikeouts and two walks during its mercy-rule setback to Escalon.

The Cougars pounded 19 hits with zero strikeouts.
