The Pride defeated the Bulldogs, 2-1, with game scores of 19-13, 14-21, 36-34.

Ceres coach Sue Garcia was pleased with her team's performance.

"We had some bright moments," she said.

"I liked the way the girls moved the ball on the court and covered each other."

This year's team features 13 players, including five seniors and eight juniors.

Seniors Elisha Ferguson, Meghan Franksen, Krystle Brown and Rachel Strickland and junior Jessica Hunter are returners. Ferguson, Franksen and Brown have been members of the varsity team since they were freshmen.
