The remains of a body found in Don Pedro Reservoir on Aug. 8 have been positively identified as that of Ceres resident Edgar Delacruz, 20.

Delacruz slipped off a houseboat during a Memorial Day weekend party and was presumed drowned.

According to Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Jim Oliver, authorities used dental records to make the identification. An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play.

The body was turned over to Delacruz's family for burial in Dodge City, Kansas, where he grew up.

Delacruz was on the houseboat with friends in the Schoolhouse mooring area at the time of the disappearance. Authorities found a plentiful supply of alcoholic beverages onboard. It's believed that the Ceres man fell off the boat at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25. When his friend noticed that he was not aboard, they called 911 at 9:30 p.m.

Delacruz was a student at Modesto Junior College where he played on the Pirates football team. He had graduated from Johansen High School in 2006.
