Sometimes suspicious circumstances aren’t what they seem. So when Ceres Police was asked to check out two men who were suspected of stealing a tire from a car – but weren’t – another discovery was made which led to an arrest.

At 10:58 p.m. on Sunday, Officer Matthew Myers was dispatched to the Walgreens Drug Store on Hatch Road to see what the men were up to. Myers learned that the car indeed belonged to Michael Murillo, 22, of Ceres as he another male were taking off the tire. But the officer soon discovered that Murillo had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest and was found with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia on him. Murillo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and his outstanding warrant.
