Transient Charles Powell, 29, went to Stanislaus County Jail on Wednesday morning, June 17, after he was found with drugs while sleeping on a discarded couch near a dumpster at Mitchell Road and Rosewood Avenue.

At 10:15 a.m., an officer approached Powell, who announced that he was on probation. As he got off the coach, the officer saw that Powell had been sitting on a matchbox. It contained three razors and a plastic baggie containing heroin. A search of his pockets turned up burnt tin foil.

Powell was arrested on charges of possession of a narcotic and probation violation.
