Ceres School Board honors faithful employees who are retiring

Retiring after 40 years with Ceres Unified School District is Natalie Kearney, a Patricia Kay Beaver Leadership Magnet School paraprofessional. She was honored at the May 28 CUSD board of trustees meeting and posed with Board President Dave McConnell.

A number of faithful employees who are retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year were honored at the May 28 meeting of the Ceres Unified School District board of trustees.

The following retirees were given thanks by the district:

Michael Engstrom, a math teacher at Ceres High School who has eight years with Ceres Unified.

Alvara Magana, a Don Pedro Elementary School custodian with 10 years of service.

Julie Davis, a Caswell Elementary School kindergarten teacher of 12 years.

Sean Eddington who taught science at Cesar Chavez Junior High School 12 years;

John Bussard, Ceres High School’s athletic director with 18 years of service with CUSD;

Anna Daniels, Ceres High School English teacher with 19 years of service;

Hilda Gonzalez-Ruvalcaba, a Sinclear Elementary School first grade teacher with 21 years of service;

Patricia Fareria, Carroll Fowler Elementary School first grade teacher who has devoted 21 years to CUSD;

Valeh Aghassi, a Mae Hensley Jr. High School math teacher who has 21 years with CUSD;

Karen Wilbor, office manager of Don Pedro Elementary School with 23 years of CUSD employment;

Jill Somner, a pre-school teacher at Don Pedro Elementary School who has worked for CUSD for 25 years;

Michael Corsaut, a teacher with Child Welfare & Attendance who’s been with CUSD for 25 years;

Linda Virgilio, first grade teacher at Virginia Parks for 26 years;

Tatyana Godorozha, a Hidahl Elementary School custodian with 26 years working for the district;

Toni Walker-Rose, who has been teaching at Carroll Fowler Elementary School, most recently fourth grade, for 26 years;

Aleksandr Kondratyuk, who has been working as a custodian at Walter White Elementary School and employed with CUSD for 28 years;

Stacy Cardoso, a Mae Hensley Junior High School paraprofessional with 28 years of service with the district.

Toni Brasil, Central Valley High School science teacher and 30-year CUSD employee;

John Torrence, who has worked for Ceres Unified School District for 31 years and is a custodian at Hidahl Elementary School;

Joseph Robinson, a sixth grade teacher at Sinclear Elementary School with 31 years of service to CUSD;

Sheri Hurst, a personnel technician with CUSD’s Personnel Services for 31 years;

Brett Johnson, a health teacher at Ceres High School with 32 years of service with the district;

Chris Adamakis, an intervention teacher at Virginia Parks Elementary School who has put in 32 years with the district;

Teresa Diamond, a transitional kindergarten teacher at Don Pedro Elementary School who has been with CUSD for 32 years;

Elaine Fetzer, a second grade teacher at Virginia Parks Elementary School who has put in 33 years with the district;

Kathy Borges, an ag and family life teacher at Cesar Chaves Junior High School who has 33 years with CUSD. She was recently named an Outstanding Teacher in Stanislaus County;

Tamron Honberger, a transitional kindergarten teacher at Virginia Parks Elementary School who has been with CUSD for 34 years;

Natalie Kearney, a Patricia Kay Beaver Leadership Magnet School paraprofessional with 40 years of service.
