Richland Faith Church in Ceres is seeking community support for its upcoming Backpack Blessings outreach event that will take place on Friday, August 7 at 6 p.m. The church’s goal is to provide backpacks and school supplies to local students as they prepare for the new school year that begins in August.

Community members may contribute financial donations or donate new, unused backpacks and school supplies. Donations may be dropped off at La Morenita Authentic Mexican Food, 1667 E. Hatch Road, Ceres.

Families with school-aged children are invited to attend the Backpack Blessings giveaway at 6 p.m. on August 7 at Richland Faith Church, located at 1201 Richland Avenue (at the corner of Nadine Avenue) in Ceres.

“We are committed to serving our community and ensuring that students begin the school year equipped with the supplies they need to succeed,” said Kristen Corrales of Richland Faith Church’s Community Outreach Ministry.
