Ceres High School senior Samuel Nieto was commended Friday for being an exemplary student with the Rotary Club’s “Student of the Month” award.
Samuel is an example of a well-rounded student and leader who throughout his four years at Ceres High, has dedicated himself to athletics, academics, leadership and service to others.
Nieto has been a member of the CHS football program for four years and track and field for three years. This season he advanced to the Division in shot put where he will proudly represent Ceres High School. He leads with kindness, compassion and humility and consistently projects these qualities through his involvement in leadership and yearbook, where he helps create a positive and welcoming environment on campus.
Off campus, Samuel enjoys playing the guitar and piano and spending time with friends. He has also given back to his community through the many service opportunities provided through athletics. After high school, Samuel plans to attend U.C. Merced and major in Economics to pursue a career as a financial analyst.
He will be the first in his family to graduate from high school. Attending college has always been a dream for both Samuel and his family, and he has worked hard to make that dream a reality.
