Gladys Antle

March 10, 1920 - Dec. 10, 2015

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 at Ceres Christian Church, 3502 Roeding Road, for Gladys Antle, 96, of Ceres. She died Dec. 10, 2015.

From 1978 to 1989, Gladys owned and operated the Dollar Saver shop on Fourth Street with Maud Lindsey.

Born March 10, 1920 in Niles. Okla., to Loyd and Mary Nutt, Gladys was the eldest of seven girls. She moved to Oceanside in 1944 with husband Clifford "Bud" Antle. The couple went back and forth between Oklahoma and California before the Antles stayed in California, this time in Patterson. The Antles later purchased a house on Walnut Avenue in Ceres in 1946, the same year that their last child, Jack, came along. She worked in a local cannery when the children were raised.

Mrs. Antle enjoyed being a member of the local Model A Club when her husband was living.

She is survived by two children, Patricia Antle Farrell of Hughson and "Buddy" Antle of Oklahoma; two sisters, Joann Delhart and Janice Pence, both of Ceres; and eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by sons Marvin Antle and Jack Antle, husband Clifford "Bud" Antle, four sisters and her parents.
