A graveside service was held Saturday at Ripon Cemetery for Gunnar Wik, 78, of Ceres. He died July 30, 2009 in Hughson after a long illness.
Born Feb. 13, 1931 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Signe and Olav Wik. Mr. Wik was a longtime resident of Salida who moved to Ceres three years ago. He was an electrical engineer with ETM of Fremont until his retirement in 1996. Mr. Wik was an Army veteran.
He loved his family with all his heart.
He leaves behind his children, Gunnar, Greg, Gean, Geri and Jeff; his brother, Leonard Wik; his sister, Marie Saginor; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lou Carol, and brother George Wik.
