Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements for Leola Mary "HoHo" Mello, 85, of Turlock. She died May 13, 2010.

Born Oct. 30, 1924, Leola was one of 16 children born to Clifton and Pearl Brainard in Stanford, Kan. She was married for 13 wonderful years to John Mello. Her greatest passion in life was to make porcelain dolls which garnered first-place ribbons at the Stanislaus County Fair. Leola loved the Lord and frequently attended the Valley Christian Center in Ceres with her niece Linda and her family. Leola loved animals and owned poodles, a chihuahua and birds.

She leaves behind her sisters, Margaret Santos, Winnie Brainard and Leila Kirchoff of Wisc.; her brother, LeRoy Brainard of Modesto. A brother, Cliff Brainard of Ceres passed away just two days after Leola. Leola is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 11 siblings.
