A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Hughson United Methodist Church, corner of Fox Road and Sixth Street in Hughson, for Lois Lavere Sinclair, 85, of Hughson. She died Nov. 24, 2009 at the home of her son, Steve Hussey, in Saratoga.

Born March 23, 1924 in Washington, D.C., Lee was born to Ernest and Lois Wright as the youngest of four children. By the time she graduated high school Lee had lived in San Antonio, Texas, Burlingame, South Bend, Ind., Cincinnati, Ohio, Wichita, Kan., Springfield and Chicago, Ill. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for two years, where she met Carl Richard Hussey. They were married in 1944 and lived in Champaign where Stephen was born. The Husseys later moved to Jackson, Tenn. In 1953, Lee moved to Hughson to live with her sister Ruth while she pursued a divorce. There she met Arthur Hugh Sinclair Jr. whom she married in 1953. In 1954, daughter Donna was born followed by the birth of twins, Brian and Scott, in 1956. Lee worked as the attendance secretary and registrar at Hughson High School from 1963 to 1975, and is remembered as the friendly face and sympathetic ear that greeted all who visited the office. Following that, she worked several years in the records office at Modesto Junior College.

Lee was a leader for the Methodist Youth Fellowship based at the old Methodist Church on Third Street in Hughson. Lee was an early member of the Hughson Twentieth Century Club. She enjoyed a good book or playing bridge with friends. Mrs. Sinclear was a member of the Hughson Friends of the Library Book Club and belonged to several bridge clubs. Lee's first love was her family.

She leaves behind her children, Stephen Hussey of Saratoga, Donna Blagg, Brian Sinclair of Hughson, and Scott Sinclair of Westport, Ct.; her sister, Ruth Rollins of Denver, Colo.; her brother, Jack Wright of Redmond, Wash.; and eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Bob Wright, and her husband of 47 years, Hugh Sinclair.
