Dolphins split with MVSL rivals

The Ceres Dolphins recreational swim club improved to 2-1 in the MVSL standings after securing a split on Saturday at West High School.

Ceres (979) bested Manteca (9121/2).

Tracy (1,1881/2) topped Ceres and Manteca.
"We had a really good meet," Ceres head coach Tracy Bull said.

Reuven Denton (15-16 boys), Julia Pata (15-16 girls), Angelo Najera (13-14 boys), Ciana Sather (13-14 boys), Elliott Lewis (11-12 boys), Camryn Silva (11-12 girls), Brett Hartley (9-10 boys), Victoria Silveria (9-10 girls), Nicholas Campbell (7-8 boys), Kaydence Bispo (7-8 girls), Zachary Esparza (6&under boys) and Zhaira Brar (6&under girls) led the Dolphins.
Silva knocked off two-time defending MVSL champion Kelly Ball of Manteca in the fly.

Camryn missed a month of practice time with a knee injury.

"That was the upset of the day," Bull said. "That wasn't supposed to happen. It was amazing."

Reuven Denton placed first in the 100 back, 100 free and 50 free.

Colin Ramos placed second in the 100 fly and 100 free, and third in the 50 free.

Gurdeep Singh placed fourth in the 100 IM, 11th in the 100 free and 12th in the 50 free.
