Bulldogs drop to second place in WAC standings

Ceres High's previously-unbeaten varsity girls track and field team dropped to second place in the Western Athletic dual-meet standings earlier this month.

Livingston took over sole possession of first after edging out the Bulldogs 70-62 on April 11 at Atwater High School.

Ceres High dropped to 2-1 in the WAC.

The Wolves improved to 3-0.

"They got talent and depth," Bulldogs head coach Brett Johnson said.

Ceres High's Azia Brewster placed first in the 100 hurdles, high jump and long jump versus Livingston.

Julia Pata placed first in the shot put and discus.

Azar Harrison placed first in the 200 and third in the 100.

Carli Gomes placed first in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the 100.

Camryn Elness placed second in the shot put and discus.

Chelsey Silva placed second in the 3,200, and fourth in the 1,600 and 800.

Claudia Jimenez placed second in the 400 and fourth in the 200.

Alyssa Stiles placed second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

Rachael Thomas placed third in the 400.

Destiny Suarez placed third in the 800 and 1,600, and fourth in the 3,200.

Kendall Meyer placed third in the high jump, fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump.

Faith Gibson placed third in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles.

Shania Evans placed third in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump.

Leslie Arroyo placed fourth in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Alexandria Marquez placed fourth in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

Eva Borden placed fourth in the high jump, sixth in the triple jump and ninth in the long jump.

Alina Williams placed fourth in the 100 and seventh in the 200.

Destiny Moreno placed fifth in the 100 hurdles.

Yasmine Cordova placed fifth in the 400.

Andria Esho placed fifth in the high jump and seventh in the triple jump.

Ceres High's 4x400 relay team of Thomas, Harrison, Cordova and Jimenez placed first.

The Wolves moved to 3-0 and no longer have company atop the conference standings

Marcellus Boykins placed first in the triple jump, second in the long jump and third in the 400.

Conner Johnson placed first in the shot put and fifth in the discus.

Noah Holloway placed second in the 1,600, fourth in the 800 and fifth in the 3,200.
