Central Valley junior Mahogany Simon successfully defended a pair of titles at the Western Athletic Conference Varsity Girls Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Pacheco High School.

Simon swept the 100 hurdles (17.18) and 300 hurdles (49.96) for the second year in a row.

She also took first in the 200 (27.21). Mahogany placed second in the event as a sophomore.

Mahogany finished second in the 300 hurdles, and fourth in the 100 hurdles and 400 in 2015.

Simon has won five individual WAC titles in four years.

Older sister Heaven Simon (class of 2015) claimed eight titles, including the 400 three times, 300 hurdles twice, and 200 and 100 once.

The top four placers at the WAC Championships qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-IV-V meet, to be staged this week at Stanislaus State.

Simon and Hawk teammates Chetna Kumar, Natalia Guzman and Anusha Kumar secured individual berths.

Chetna Kumar took second in the 100 (13.22) and long jump (15-61/2), and third in the 200 (27.44).

Guzman took second in the discus (78-0) and fourth in the shot put (27-6).

Anusha Kumar took third in the 100 hurdles (19.41), sixth in the high jump (4-4) and 12th in the 100 (14.19).

Central Valley's Emily Curiel, Ramandeep Kaur, Jocelyn Ramirez and Megan Suarez competed for the final time this season for Central Valley last week.

Curiel took seventh in the 100 hurdles (21.26) and 300 hurdles (56.02).

Kaur took seventh in the 400 (1:11.15).

Ramirez took eighth in the shot put (24-9).

Suarez took ninth in the 400 (1:13.92), 11th in the 200 (31.69) and 14th in the 100 (15:05).

BOYS RESULTS
Central Valley varsity boys track and field members Enrique Martinez, Andres Rojo, Patric Senesom, Alejandro Saucedo, Chase Bogart, Estevan Barragan and Sebastian Pena have earned the right to compete for at least another week.

Martinez, Rojo, Senesom, Saucedo, Bogart, Barragan and Pena extended their seasons after turning in standout performances at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Pacheco High School.

The top four individuals and three relay teams at the WAC finals advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-IV-V meet, to be held this week at Stanislaus State.

Martinez finished second in the 3,200 (11:10.26) and seventh in the 1,600 (5:03.23).

Rojo finished third in the 400 (53.46) and sixth in the 800 (2:17.74).

Senesom finished fourth in the 110 hurdles (19.44), seventh in the long jump (16-61/2), eighth in the 300 hurdles (49.08) and 13th in the 400 (1:00.83).

Saucedo finished fourth in the 300 hurdles (44.76) and seventh in the 110 hurdles (20.50).

Central Valley's 4x400 relay team of Bogart, Barragan, Pena and Rojo finished second (3:38.12).

Bogart finished fifth in the 800 (2:15.54) and sixth in the 1,600 (5:02.89).

Barragan finished ninth in the 100 (12.03).

Pena finished seventh in the 100 (11.91).

Sergio Garcia finished sixth in the pole vault (9-6)

Favio Gonzalez finished eighth in the 3,200 (12:38.40) and 11th in the 800 (2:26.15).

Carlos Prado finished 10th in the 300 hurdles (50.13) and 12th in the 110 hurdles (21.08).

Jesus Villa finished 13th in the shot put (30-1).
