Ceres High School's varsity softball team has won by the 10-run mercy rule seven times during the Western Athletic Conference season.

The Bulldogs' latest blowout victories came against Livingston and Patterson.

Ceres High totaled 29 hits and no errors.

The first-place Bulldogs improved to 15-3-0 on the year and 8-0-0 in the WAC standings.

"We have a lot of talent," Ceres High standout hitter/catcher Mahlena O'Neal. "But we never overlook an opponent. It would be better if teams gave us more of a challenge to help prepare us for playoffs. That would be more beneficial for us."

The Bulldogs collected 12 hits during Thursday's 11-0 win over visiting Livingston in five innings on Thursday.

O'Neal batted 2-for-3 from the plate with one RBI.

Rayohna Sagapolu batted 3-for-3 with one homer, one double, three RBIs and two runs.

Nunes improved her pitching record to 12-1 with a 0.79 ERA, 129 strikeouts and just 13 walks.

"She's got an awesome changeup now," O'Neal said. "She keeps hitters off balance."

Ceres High pounded 17 hits in beating host Patterson 13-0 in six innings on April 19.

O'Neal batted 4-for-4 with two home runs, one double, five RBIs and two runs.

"I'm making better contact and being smart when I'm up to bat," said Mahlena, who bashed her 19th and 20th homers of her career. "I'm not chasing pitches out of the zone."

Baisdon batted 3-for-5 with one RBI and three runs.

Cortez batted 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two runs.

Bates batted 2-for-5 with one RBI and two runs.

Mackenzie Veuve batted 2-for-4 with one double and two RBIs.
