Central Valley High School had six varsity wrestlers finish in the top five at Oakdale's 32nd Annual James Riddle Invitational on Saturday.

"It was a good first tournament for us," Hawks coach Joe Stewart said. "Hopefully, we can build on this."

Justin Lomeli and Victor Tubera both finished in second place with identical 3-1 records in their respective divisions.

Lomeli competed at 112 pounds.

"He wrestled smart," Stewart said. "He never got out of position."

Tubera competed at 140 pounds. The junior has matured mentally and physically.

"He's a lot more patient this year," Stewart said. "He's also stronger. He put on 10 pounds of muscle."

Louis Bracamonte (160s), Carlos Gonzalez (171s), Anthony Martinez (189s) and Stephen Wade (215s) all finished in fifth place with 3-2 records.
