• Gun range complaints

This is for Art deWerk. This is in regards to the gun range over at the wastewater treatment plant. I live over by the Quik Stop and it just constantly sounds like a war zone over here, day in, day out. My poor neighbor can't even get any sleep. He works late night graveyard (shift) and you guys are constantly keeping him up. As a matter of fact, they're shooting as I speak now. It's 6:30 and it goes all the way to 9 o'clock at night. It's getting ridiculous over there. You know, kids are scared, dogs are barking. You guys need to do something. We would appreciate it.

• Animal Pound tragedy

My daughter needing a new dog for her new home, decided to get a puppy. Immediately we thought of the shelter on Finch Road. There we picked out a beautiful two-month-old Lab-German Shepherd, very playful and full of life. She was a joy for the whole family and she had filled our need. After nine days she saddened and as a mom I assumed she was overeating based on her symptoms. In less than two days she was transformed, not even wanting to get up for water. With no improvement, I took her back to the vet, where I was told she had all signs of parvo, an airborne disease that is very contagious. Greatly saddened with the letter from the doctor, I took her back to the shelter where I was told they were going to test her. Immediately I went back home to dispose of all her belongings and decontaminate all the area. After five hours we were told she had tested negative but still they had euthanized her. With no compensation, now I am short $147, I have no bedding and I have no puppy. I feel I have been taken advantage of and fooled. Now I cannot replace what I am still in need of - my puppy.

• They'd raise rates anyway

Calling regarding the article, "Where were the protestors?" about the water hike raises and the bill payers. Well, I'll tell you. The city is going to raise our water rates anyway and they're going to do it because of all the people that they allowed to build new homes and move into our city before planning and thinking ahead of what was in the future for the people who were already homeowners to begin with. And so, therefore, the homeowners like us who were here to begin with are the ones who are going to have to pay extra for the jerks who had to move in after we were here. Isn't that lovely?

• Pot brownie unpunished

I want to talk about the Ceres Police Department. How I went in there to let them know that there was someone in the Central Valley School eating marijuana brownies. And they told me basically there's nothing they can do, to go to the school. I find that very odd that they couldn't call the school and do something about it.

Then when I did call the school to do something about it, they wanted all kinds of information, how did I know, what's your name - which I think that should all be secretive.

After all that there was nothing done to the person eating the brownies. They didn't even drug test them. I find this highly sick about this this city and if it was up to me I'd get the hell out of it.
