A 19-year-old Ceres woman was arrested for drunken driving Saturday evening after an officer watched her take several bizarre movements.

Samantha Werner, 19, of Ceres was arrested for DUI by Officer Adam Hall.

At 10:10 p.m., Officer Adam Hall saw Werner driving eastbound on Whitmore Avenue with her headlights off. Officer Hall caught up to her cars as the lights came on at Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue. Officer Hall watched as Werner turned northbound onto Boothe Road and then pulled over and stopped. Officer Hall passed the car but when he got to Booth Road and Helen Perry Drive, he saw Werner take off again, making an eastbound turn onto Valley Oak Drive.

He followed the car and saw that it stopped in the 3500 block of Valley Oak Drive. Officer Hall pulled up to the driver to see if she was lost or needed help and that’s when he noticed Werner appeared drunk.

At the conclusion of a DUI investigation and a breath test that confirmed that she was over the legal alcohol limit to drive, Werner was arrested for DUI.
